Η BMW έδωσε σήμερα τις πρώτες φωτογραφίες αλλά και τις λεπτομέρειες από τις νέες M6 Coupe και Convertible. Στιλιστικά, και τα δύο μοντέλα διαθέτουν επιθετικό bodykit με νέους μπροστά προφυλακτήρες, φουσκωμένα/αεριζόμενα φτερά, νέα γρίλια, LED μπροστά φωτιστικά σώματα, νέα γρίλια, πλαϊνά spoiler, διαχύτη, 4-πλες απολήξεις των εξατμίσεων και ζάντες 19″ (στον πρόσθετο εξοπλισμό υπάρχουν διαθέσιμες και 20″).
H M6 Coupe φορά οροφή κατασκευασμένη από CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic), ενώ η convertible φορά μια μαλακή υφασμάτινη οροφή με διπλά στηρίγματα η οποία ανοίγει σε 19 δευτερόλεπτα ακόμη και όταν κινείται με ταχύτητες έως 40 χλμ/ώρα.
Στο εσωτερικό φοράνε σπορ δερμάτινα Merino καθίσματα, έναν νέο επιλογέα ταχυτήτων, νέο τιμόνι με paddles, νέο πίνακα οργάνων, carbon διακοσμητικά, αλουμινένια μαρσπιέ και κρυφό φωτισμό. Στον επιπλέον εξοπλισμό υπάρχει θερμαινόμενο τιμόνι, σύστημα πλοήγησης GPS και σύστημα ήχου Bang & Olufsen.
Επιπλέον διαθέτει Head-Up Display, αυτόματο σύστημα μεγάλης σκάλας των φωτιστικών σωμάτων, σύστημα αναγνώρισης πεζών και το σύστημα βραδινής όρασης BMW Night Vision. Επιπλέον υπάρχει το σύστημα ειδοποίησης αλλαγής λωρίδας, κάμερα οπισθοπορείας, σύστημα ψυχαγωγίας με σύνδεση στο internet στο οποίο μπορούν να εγκατασταθούν apps για το Facebook και το Twitter.
Κάτω από το καπό βρίσκεται ο Twin-Turbo V8 4.4-λίτρων της M5, απόδοσης 560 ίππων με 680 Nm ροπής. Συνδυάζεται με το 7-τάχυτο κιβώτιο διπλού συμπλέκτη M Double Clutch Transmission με drivelogic και σύστημα εκκίνησης. Η M6 Coupe, τα 0-100 χλμ/ώρα τα κάνει σε 4.2 δευτ, ενώ η Convertible με 4.3 δευτ. Και στα δύο, η τελική ταχύτητα περιορίζεται ηλεκτρονικά στα 250 χλμ/ώρα, αλλά με το πακέτο M Driver’s Package, ο περιοριστής ταχύτητας αφαιρείται, και μπορούν να πιάσουν τελική ταχύτητα ίση με 305 χλμ/ώρα.
Η M6 Coupe έχει μέση κατανάλωση 9.9 λίτρα/100 χλμ με 232 γρ/χλμ CO2 ενώ η Convertible χρειάζεται κατά μέσο όρο 10.3 λίτρα/100 χλμ, εκπέμποντας 239 γρ/χλμ CO2. Σε ότι αφορά τα υπόλοιπα μηχανικά μέρη, οι νέες M6 διαθέτουν σπορ ανάρτηση, ενεργό M διαφορικό και επαναπρογραμματισμένο σύστημα ευστάθειας με επιλογή “M Dynamic”. Τέλος φορά μεγάλα φρένα (carbon-κεραμικά υπάρχουν στον επιπλέον εξοπλισμό) M servotronic κρεμαργιέρα και ένα δυναμικό σύστημα απόσβεσης κραδασμών.
