H Skoda ανακοίνωσε ότι την Παρασκευή 4 Μαΐου, βγήκε από το εργοστάσιο της στη Τσεχία η 3.000.000 Fabia. Το επετειακό αυτοκίνητο ήταν μια Fabia GreenLine με λευκό χρώμα με τον 1.200αρη TDI κινητήρα και προορίζεται για έναν Γερμανό πελάτης της Skoda. Η Fabia βγήκε στην αγορά το 1999 και ήδη μετρά δύο γενιές. Η πρώτη πούλησε 1.788.063 μονάδες έως το 2007, ενώ η δεύτερη γενιά, που παρουσιάστηκε στην έκθεση της Γενεύης του 2007 και ξεκίνησε εμπορική πορεία από τον Απρίλιο του ίδιου έτους, μέχρι σήμερα έχει πουλήσει 1.211.937 μονάδες. Στις αρχές του 2010, η Fabia ανανεώθηκε στιλιστικά αφού κυκλοφόρησε η facelift έκδοση.

Η Fabia έγινε έτσι το δεύτερο πιο πετυχημένο μοντέλο των Τσέχων πίσω από την Octavia, ενώ το 2011 πουλήθηκαν περίπου 267.000 μονάδες, αύξηση κατά 16%, αντιπροσωπεύοντας περισσότερο από το ένα τέταρτο των παγκόσμιων πωλήσεων της Skoda. H Fabia εκτός από το εργοστάσιο της Skoda στο Mladá Boleslav της Τσεχίας, κατασκευάζεται στα εργοστάσια της σε Κίνα, Ινδία και Ρωσία και πωλείται σε 103 χώρες .

ŠKODA has built the three-millionth Fabia

Mladá Boleslav, May 4, 2012 – ŠKODA has built the three-millionth Fabia. The anniversary vehicle – a white ŠKODA Fabia GreenLine – rolled off the assembly line at the main plant in Mladá Boleslav today. The particularly efficient and thus environmentally-friendly version of the Fabia was ordered by a customer in Germany.

The popular compact car by the Czech auto manufacturer has been on the market since 1999. Overall, a total of 1,788,063 first generation ŠKODA Fabias as well as another 1,211,937 second generation ŠKODA Fabias have been manufactured. That makes the ŠKODA Fabia one of the most successful models by the Czech manufacturer behind the ŠKODA Octavia. In 2011 alone, worldwide deliveries of the Fabia to customers increased more than 16 percent to around 267,000 units. Thus, the Fabia represents more than a fourth of the worldwide sales of the brand.

“The ŠKODA Fabia has a great share in ŠKODA’s fast success story and plays a central role for our Growth Strategy 2018 as well,” emphasizes ŠKODA’s chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “Thirteen years ago, the vehicle marked another milestone for our company as the third model series at the time. Since then, we have not just produced three million ŠKODA Fabias, but also more than doubled the annual sales of our entire model range. These figures are a powerful testimony to the success of the model in the international markets and to the development of the brand,” continues Vahland.

At the present time, the ŠKODA Fabia is built in the Czech Republic, China, Russia and India and sold in about 103 countries worldwide. Since the year 2007, ŠKODA has also been offering the compact car in the environmentally-friendly GreenLine version. Thanks to technical innovations such as the automatic start-stop system and the brake energy recuperation, the ŠKODA Fabia GreenLine only needs 3.4 liter diesel for 100 kilometers. The CO2 emissions of the modern 1.2 TDI CR DPF / 55 kW diesel engine amount to just 89 g/km.

With its two versions – hatchback and station wagon – the ŠKODA Fabia has also been providing the basis for attractive special models time and again. Thus, paying homage to the brand’s successes in motor sports, ŠKODA launched the sporty version Fabia Monte Carlo in the market in 2011. ŠKODA Motorsport used the rally vehicle ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 for its victory of the rally world championship and the championship victory in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge IRC in 2011.

The first ŠKODA Fabia generation celebrated its premiere in 1999 and was produced for eight years. The second generation of the compact car was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007. Sales of the vehicle began in April 2007, first as the hatchback version that was later followed by the station wagon. Both body versions were given extensive facelifts in early 2010.
