Στη δημοπρασία που έλαβε χώρα στο Pebble Beach, μια Ferrari California 250 LWB Spider Competizione του 1960, πουλήθηκε έναντι 11 εκατ. δολαρίων (8.9 εκατ. ευρώ). Το αυτοκίνητο ανήκε στον Sherman Wolf, ο οποίος είχε αγοράσει το αυτοκίνητο από τον αρχικό του ιδιοκτήτη το 1979, με τον νέο ιδιοκτήτη να θέλει να κρατήσει την ανωνυμία του.
Εκτός από την California, μια 340 MM Spider πουλήθηκε έναντι 4.5 εκατ. δολάρια (3.6 εκατ. ευρώ) ενώ μια 288 GTO του 1985 1 εκατ. δολάρια (€813.000). Τέλος εκεί η Ferrari έδωσε την Tailor Made FF στον Βρετανό golfer Ian Poulter.

1960 Ferrari California sold at over 11 million Dollars at Pebble Beach auction
Pebble Beach (California), 20 August 2012 – The weekend in Pebble Beach ended under the sign of Ferrari. After the enthusiasm for the debut of the F12berlinetta in the USA and the handover of the personalised Tailor Made FF to the British golfer Ian Poulter, the manufacturer from Maranello was also a protagonist at the auction on the Californian weekend.
The 1960 California 250 LWB Spider Competizione reigned the event and went to an anonymous collector for over 11 million Dollars (including the auction fee). The car is an extremely rare model and has been built only nine times for competition. The car comes from the Sherman M. Wolf collection, who had bought it from its first owner in 1979 and owning it until last weekend. A rare car that also only had two owners.
At the same auction other wonderful Ferraris from the same collection came under the hammer: such as the 1985 288 GTO, sold for 1 million Dollars, and a 340 MM Spider, sold for almost 4.5 million Dollars.
First Tailor Made car in USA handed over to Ian Poulter
Pebble Beach (California), 18 August 2012 – Pebble Beach was the exceptional location, where the first Ferrari Tailor Made for the USA was handed over to its new owner. The author of the personalisation of an FF is the famous British golfer Ian Poulter, who received the keys from Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa during a special evening event with over 300 clients of the Prancing Horse.
Poulter chose a “Sabbia” triple-layer livery for his FF with the interior in black Poltrona Frau leather and tartan, a characteristic of his new collection. The boot in carbon fibre and high-tech fabric sports several elements from the world of golf like the tartan, used for the first time in a car from Maranello.
