Η Hyundai αποφάσισε να συνεργαστεί με την Cosworth για την εξέλιξη μιας σειράς αγώνων, με ονομασία Cosworth Genesis Racing Series (CGRS), και θα παρουσιάσουν το αυτοκίνητο στην επερχόμενη έκθεση της SEMA, που θα διεξαχθεί στο τέλος του μήνα.
Η κινητήρια μονάδα του αυτοκινήτου θα είναι ο ίδιος V6 3.8-λίτρων του εργοστασιακού αλλά με τη κατάλληλη φροντίδα της βρετανικής εταιρίας, αποδίδει πλέον 41 επιπλέον άλογα και 40 Nm ροπής, με τα συνολικά νούμερα να φτάνουν στα 389 άλογα στις 6.400 σ.α.λ. και 440 Nm ροπής στις 5.100 σ.α.λ. Οι αλλαγές φυσικά συνεχίζονται στο στήσιμο του αυτοκινήτου αλλά και στα φρένα, όλα εξελιγμένα από τα χέρια της Cosworth.
Το εκθεσιακό αυτοκίνητο θα είναι βαμμένο σε γυαλιστερό satin μπλε χρώμα και θα φορά νέα πίσω αεροτομή, μπροστινό splitter, πίσω ενσωματωμένο διαχύτη και ζάντες από ελαφρύ κράμα σε gumetal απόχρωση.
Το εσωτερικό του θα έχει υποστεί και αυτό τις κατάλληλες τροποποιήσεις, με νέα καθίσματα, τιμόνι, μοχλό ταχυτήτων αλλά και ντυμένο με ειδικό υλικό.

Hyundai chose the world-renowned engineering design and manufacturer, Cosworth, as a development partner to create the ultimate Genesis Coupe known as the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series (CGRS). The eye-grabbing blue Cosworth CGRS concept will be showcased with the Hyundai brand at the upcoming 2012 SEMA show.
This special Cosworth-tuned model takes the new Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter, direct-injected engine to racecar levels, with an impressive 389 horsepower at 6400 rpm, and tire-shredding torque of 325 lb.-ft. at 5100 rpm, all with daily-driving civility. From the exterior, the Cosworth design theme radiates a retina-bending satin-gloss blue finish, aero front splitter, gunmetal-finish lightweight racing wheels, integrated rear spoiler, and blackout rear diffuser. While unmistakably race-oriented, the Cosworth concept retains the original Genesis Coupe design language, focusing most on astounding performance gains and real-world performance potential.
