Τη Παρασκευή η Bentley στο Goodwood θα παρουσιάσει την Continental GT3, την αγωνιστική έκδοση της Continental η οποία θα μπορεί να τρέξει σε μια σειρά αγώνων της FIA, συμπεριλαμβανομένων και των 24-ωρων αγώνων αντοχής.
Το αγωνιστικό φορά τον νέο 4.0 TFSI κινητήρα της Audi, με την επιλογή του κινητήρα να γίνεται λόγω του χαμηλότερου βάρους αλλά και της καλύτερης απόδοσης σε σχέση με τον W12 twin-turbo της Bentley. Ο κινητήρας είναι ο ίδιος με αυτόν που φοράνε τα S6, S7, S8, RS6 και RS7 καθώς και η Continental GT. Πόσα άλογα αποδίδει στην αγωνιστική Continental δεν το ανακοίνωσε η Bentley, αλλά δηλώνει πως στέλνει τη κίνηση στους πίσω τροχούς μέσω ενός 6-τάχυτου σειριακού κιβωτίου.
Η Continental GT3 ζυγίζει 1.000 κιλά λιγότερα από όσα ζυγίζει η Continental παραγωγής και έχει αναπτυχθεί σε συνεργασία με την M-Sport. Διαθέτει ανάρτηση με διπλά ψαλίδια, ρυθμιζόμενα αμορτισέρ τεσσάρων κατευθύνσεων και αγωνιστικά φρένα. Στο εσωτερικό υπάρχει roll cage εγκεκριμένο από τη FIA, carbon αγωνιστικά καθίσματα και αγωνιστικό τιμόνι.
Μαζί με την Continental GT3, στο Goodwood η Bentley θα πάει την Continental GT Speed Coupe, την Continental GT Speed Convertible, την Flying Spur και την Speed 8.

(Crewe,10th July 2013) Bentley’s new Continental GT3 race car makes its running debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday 12th July 2013. Following its global unveiling at 10:15, the car takes to the hill at 13:25.
HALF-YEAR SUCCESS FOR BENTLEY AS SALES CONTINUE TO GROW
- Nine per cent increase maintains strong 2013 performance
- 14 new dealerships opened
- Significant gains in US and Europe
(Crewe, 10 July 2013). Bentley Motors continues its successful performance as the company announces global deliveries to customers have grown by nine per cent (4,279 cars) against the first six months of 2012 (3,929 cars).
Growth in Bentley’s largest market, the US, was key, as was a strong showing in Europe. The business further enhanced its global presence with 14 new dealerships introduced in the first half of the year, a 13 per cent expansion on the same time in 2012.
Commenting on the results, Kevin Rose, Bentley’s Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, said:
“This success has been supported by the introduction of new models, with the Continental GT Speed and Continental GT Speed Convertible proving successful across multiple regions, while the existing GT W12, V8 and Mulsanne models maintain their strong performance.
“Bentley continues to post significant global sales growth and we are extremely confident we will sustain this success for the remaining months of 2013 as we see the full availability of our new Flying Spur in all markets.”
Bentley’s largest region, the Americas continued its impressive performance, with 1,282 cars delivered to customers, a 12 per cent increase on the same period in 2012.
Bentleys continued to be sought after in the Middle East, with the Continental GT V8 performing strongly, resulting in the region delivering 394 cars to customers, a 28 per cent growth. Significant gains were made in Asia Pacific, which saw 222 cars delivered to customers, a 53 per cent increase.
Bentley’s Japanese market increased deliveries to customers to 96 cars, a rise of 28 per cent. In China, 817 cars were delivered, representing a 23 per cent decrease over last year, as the market awaits the full availability of the new Flying Spur, a major car for this region. There was however growth for the Continental GT and Mulsanne model lines, reporting a 24 per cent increase on last year.
A key emerging market for Bentley, Russia, posted growth figures on the back of network expansions introducing a new showroom in the key city, St. Petersburg, with the region delivering 110 cars to customers, a four per cent increase. This growth was furthered throughout Europe, posting a 22 per cent growth to 740 cars, with the UK delivering 698 cars, representing a 25 per cent increase on the first half of 2012.
