Nέες πληροφορίες για το Lexus RC [Photo Gallery]

Πριν περίπου δύο εβδομάδες η Lexus παρουσίασε το νέο RC Coupe. Σήμερα, με την επίσημη έναρξη της έκθεσης του Τόκιο μαθαίνουμε κάποιες περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες για το μοντέλο, καθώς βλέπουμε και νέες φωτογραφίες.

Το μοντέλο ουσιαστικά είναι η coupe έκδοση του IS και είναι επηρεασμένο αρκετά από τα πρωτότυπα LF-LC και LF-CC concepts. Το RC διαθέτει επιθετική σχεδίαση και τη γνώριμη, πλέον, κοντύτερη/φαρδύτερη γρίλια. Ξεχωρίζουν τα LED φωτιστικά σώματα και οι ζάντες 18″ και 19″, ενώ στο εσωτερικό του η Lexus δανείστηκε πολλά στοιχεία από τα πρόσφατα πρωτότυπα της και για πρώτη φορά σε μοντέλο παραγωγής της έχει τοποθετήσει ένα σύστημα φωτισμού το οποίο αντανακλά προς τα πάνω.

Στη κορυφή της κεντρικής κονσόλας υπάρχει μια οθόνη 7″ που ενσωματώνει το σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας, με την πολυεπίπεδη κεντρική κονσόλα να διαθέτει επίσης ενσωματωμένο το ασύρματο σύστημα αφής. Έχει μήκος 4.693 χλστ, πλάτος 1.838 χλστ, ύψος 1.394 χλστ και μεταξόνιο 2.730 χλστ. Μηχανικά, αρχικά, θα είναι διαθέσιμο σε δύο εκδόσεις, τις RC 350 και RC 300h Hybrid.

Η πρώτη φορά τον V6 3,5-λίτρων βενζινοκινητήρα απόδοσης 314 ίππων στις 6.400 σ.α.λ. και ροπή 379 Nm στις 4.800 σ.α.λ.. Συνδυάζεται με ένα 8-τάχυτο κιβώτιο Sport Direct Shift με paddles στο τιμόνι, που προέρχεται από το IS F sedan. Η Lexus αναφέρει ότι στη χειροκίνητη λειτουργία οι αλλαγές θα γίνονται σε 0.2 δευτ.

Η δεύτερη έκδοση, RC 300h Hybrid, είναι το πρώτο υβριδικό coupe της ιαπωνικής εταιρίας και φορά τον 2,5-λίτρο τετρακύλινδρο κινητήρα απόδοσης 178 ίππων που συνδυάζεται με έναν ηλεκτροκινητήρα απόδοσης 131 ίππων. Η συνολική απόδοση είναι 220 άλογα και συνδέεται με ένα CVT κιβώτιο με έξι προρυθμισμένες σχέσεις.

Αργότερα, και λογικά στην έκθεση του Detroit τον Ιανουάριο του 2014, θα προστεθεί και η κορυφαία έκδοση RC F η οποία θα φορά τον V8 5,0-λίτρων κινητήρα απόδοσης 455 ίππων με 543 Nm ροπής.

Τέλος, αναφέρεται ότι ανάλογα την χώρα θα είναι διαθέσιμο τόσο σε πισωκίνητες όσο και σε τετρακίνητες εκδόσεις.

Lexus RC

The all-new Lexus RC will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Two RC models will be displayed – the RC 350 with 3.5L V6 engine, and the RC 300h hybrid with 2.5L engine.

The Lexus RC Line brings to life the luxury marque’s focus on emotional appeal through a dynamic and alluring two-door coupe. It has been developed to raise the brand’s profile with a broader audience and new-to-Lexus customers. It injects emotional appeal into the Lexus DNA that is synonymous with build quality, refinement and reliability.

Design exterior

Lexus designers have infused the RC design with deeply contoured lines never before seen in the Lexus line-up. They have integrated the widest and lowest application yet seen of the Lexus spindle grille.

Triangular headlamps evoke the sporty characteristics of the LF-LC design while concept vehicle inspiration is evident in the unique three-lamp LED design. At low beam, the lamps adopt an L-shaped pattern as an expression of the Lexus identity.

The sharp, thin design of the rear combination lamps adopts the symbolic Lexus L-shaped motif.

RC’s aluminium wheels continue the concept-to-production design philosophy with two available combinations – a deeply sculpted 10-spoke 19-inch wheel or a muscular five-spoke 18-inch version, each precision-machined and finished with elegant black and platinum centre caps.

The hero colour is red – featuring brighter and more contrasting shade made possible by a new Lexus painting process that uses multiple layers of clear and deeper-coloured coating.

Design interior

Highly acclaimed sports concept vehicles have greatly influenced the interior of the Lexus RC coupe, with maximum use of contrasting colours, materials and lighting.

A purpose-built Lexus-first lighting package provides a great sense of occasion, with illumination that reflects upwards, rather than downwards, to envelop the cabin.

High contrast interior trim, including a startling new tone called Clove, emphasize design lines and accentuate the elegant cabin.

Genuine shimamoku wood highlights – the result of an intense, layered wood production technique refined by Lexus – are used to emphasize the surrounding trim.

The driver’s cockpit is divided into operational and display zones. The upper zone houses the instrument panel and a seven-inch navigation screen while a layered centre console integrates a new Lexus first Remote Touch Interface.

Importantly for a coupe, the seats utilize an integrated foaming construction method – much like the moulding of racing seats – to ensure optimum occupant comfort and support.
