Το αυτοκίνητο είναι βαμμένο με χρώματα παραλλαγής, ενώ υπάρχουν καφέ δερμάτινες επενδύσεις στο εσωτερικό.

LAPO ELKANN’S FERRARI 458 ITALIA WAS AUCTIONED OFF FOR 1 MILLION EUROS
On the occasion of the 23rd edition of the “Cinema Against AIDS” charity evening, organized May 19th by amfAR during the Cannes Festival, the Ferrari 458 Italia Camouflage, which was donated by Lapo Elkann to support the Foundation, was auctioned off by Simon de Pury for 1 million Euros.
The 23rd edition of the amfAR “Cinema Against AIDS” charity evening took place in the beautiful setting of Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc at Cap d’Antibes. This is an event of worldwide significance, which, to date, has raised over 170 million dollars in favour of AIDS research. Starring at the traditional Gala auction was the Ferrari 458 Italia Camouflage owned by Lapo Elkann. The President and Founder of Garage Italia Customs, in fact, donated his car to afAR. The matchless one-off, which Lapo Elkann personalized in every detail, was auctioned off by Simon de Pury for the extraordinary amount of 1 million Euros.
“I am really excited – says Lapo Elkann – that my Ferrari 458 has contributed to the success of amfAR. It is a cause I have cared for and believed in for many years. I am happy that this gesture of mine made it possible to raise such an important amount in order to continue to support the many projects of the foundation to fight AIDS. Let me therefore profoundly thank the new owner for his generosity, because without him we would never have reached this sum”.
The generous donor, Ron Burkle, was hence awarded with a unique model, which was created when Lapo Elkann launched the Ferrari Tailor Made unit in Maranello. This indeed was the spark that initiated Garage Italia Customs, the creative hub specialized in tailor-made personalisation.
THE CAR: The Ferrari 458 is characterised by a camouflage livery, which was obtained thanks to a complex hand-painting procedure using three different shades of green and one of brown. The same military pattern is to be found on the cover of the engine and on the brake pincers. To complete the personalisation of the exteriors, a varnished steel peace symbol substitutes the prancing horse on the sides. On the inside, which is completely upholstered in brown leather, we find green-painted Kevlar inserts for the dashboard and door panels. They match the Kevlar centre console which has a “458” metal plaque with Lapo Elkann’s signature. Camouflage-painted leather characterises the seats, dashboard and door panels.
