H Jaguar ανακοίνωσε τις MY2013 εκδόσεις των XF, XF Sportbrake και XJ. Κύριο χαρακτηριστικό είναι η προσθήκη 2 νέων κινητήρων, τον turbo 2.0-λιτρο απόδοσης 240 ίππων με 340 Nm ροπής, και τον κομπρεσοράτο V6 3.0-λιτρο απόδοσης 340 ίππων με 450 Nm ροπής. Τα XF και XF Sportbrake φοράνε και τον ανανεωμένο τετρακύλινδρο πετρελαιοκινητήρα απόδοσης 163 ίππων με 400 Nm και 200 ίππων με 450 Nm ροπής.

Όλοι οι κινητήρες συνδυάζονται με ένα 8-τάχυτο αυτόματο κιβώτιο, με τις εκδόσεις με τους V6 και V8 κινητήρες να διαθέτουν και σύστημα Start/Stop, όπου μειώνει τη κατανάλωση κατά 5%. Στο εσωτερικό υπάρχει ένα αναβαθμισμένο σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας όπου συνδυάζεται με το σύστημα ήχου Meridian απόδοσης 825 Watt. H XJ, διαθέτει επαναπρογραμματισμένη ανάρτηση με νέα ελατήρια και αμορτισέρ.

Jaguar has announced details of its 2013 model year generation XJ. It benefits from Jaguar’s relentless research and development programme to improve efficiency and introduce the latest comfort and functional technologies.

Significant transmission, engine and dynamic developments mean Jaguar’s most technologically advanced car becomes more efficient and refined.

To maximise efficiency from the all-aluminium architecture of the XJ, Jaguar has introduced an eight-speed ZF transmission with Intelligent Stop-Start as standard. As seen on the XF, these developments lead to lower fuel consumption and emissions. The new XJ is expected to achieve 47 MPG while emitting 159g/km of CO₂, a 14% improvement.

The 13MY XJ marks the introduction of a new 3.0-litre, supercharged V6 powertrain.  Producing 340PS and 450Nm of torque – equating to almost 127PS per litre – the highest specific output of any Jaguar engine, the new engine is refined and powerful.  Making its debut in the XJ and XF, this engine will also power the forthcoming F-TYPE sports car, available from 2013.

For 13MY, XJ has improved suspension refinement and performance. Alongside the exciting new powertrain line-up all models in the range benefit from re-calibrated spring and damper tunes as well as remapped damper software – offering enhanced ride isolation and passenger comfort on all road surfaces.

Enhancements extend to the XJ’s award-winning cabin with DAB now fitted as standard and a new premium sound system.

Teaming up with British audio specialist Meridian, Jaguar engineers have developed a 825W sound system. Tested using the most scrupulous audio measurements the Meridian system boasts significantly lower levels of harmonic distortion – meaning a lower power output is required to achieve the high levels of audio clarity within the vehicle. The top-of-the range 20-speaker 825W system comes as standard on Portfolio and Supersport XJ models while offered as an option on other derivatives.

The XJ continues to be among the best-selling cars in its class, reporting an 11% per cent rise in sales in 2011. Combining advanced construction, luxury and performance, the XJ range has recently expanded to include the new Sport and Speed packs as well as the introduction of the new ‘Ultimate’ model, including a bespoke rear seat environment and unique exterior styling.

Jaguar has announced pricing and the engine line-up for the new XF Sportbrake – the first deliveries of which will take place in the UK towards the end of the year.

Powered by a range of powerful, yet efficient, diesel engines in 2.2- and 3.0-litre capacities, the XF Sportbrake marks the debut of new derivatives based on the 2.2-litre diesel unit. The engine is now available in 163 PS and 200 PS outputs – the latter replacing the existing 190PS output engine. Both share highly competitive CO₂ emissions starting from just 135 g/km and economy of 55.4 mpg.

The Sportbrake will also be available equipped with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine in 240 PS Diesel and 275 PS Diesel S derivatives. Each emits 163 g/km of CO₂ and returns 46mpg on the combined cycle.

Despite its focus on versatility, in Diesel S form, the XF Sportbrake can accelerate to 60mph from rest in just 6.1-seconds. The 240PS variant can achieve the same feat in 6.7-seconds.

The XF saloon also benefits from the new engine upgrades. Applied to the saloon, the new 2.2-litre Diesel engines share the same economy and CO₂ figures as the Sportbrake. Deliveries of the saloon commence in September with prices starting at £29,940 on-the-road.

The XF saloon and Sportbrake will both adopt the eight-speed automatic gearbox and Stop/Start as standard across the engine range – improving emissions on the V6 Diesel engines by six per cent on the saloon.

For the first time, the XF range will also be available with the Meridian audio system – replacing the Bowers and Wilkins system and promising precise yet powerful sound quality via a sophisticated amplifier and high quality speaker units.

Heading the XF range is the new XFR Speed Pack. Featuring a speed limiter raised to 174mph, the 510PS XFR Speed Pack car is equipped with revised engine and gearbox calibration to match the increased top speed. A new front aero splitter and a new rear wing distinguish the Speed Pack car.

Joining the range is a new 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine developing 340 PS. The engine, which is also set to appear in the new F-TYPE, replaces the naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 in the XF range. The 3.0-litre V6 S/C is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph, returning fuel economy figures of 30mpg on the combined cycle and emitting 224g/km of CO₂.
