H Volkswagen ανακοίνωσε την έκδοση Beetle 53, η οποία θα πωλείται αποκλειστικά στην Ισπανική αγορά. Εμπνευσμένο από τον θρυλικό Herbie των ταινιών “Το Κατσαριδάκι”, είναι βαμμένο σε λευκό χρώμα έχοντας κόκκινες και μπλε διακοσμητικά λωρίδες, αυτοκόλλητα με του νούμερο 53 και ζάντες 17″. Στο εσωτερικό οι μόνες αλλαγές εντοπίζονται μόνο στο λογότυπο “Beetle 53” στο ντουλαπάκι του συνοδηγού.
Μηχανικά θα είναι διαθέσιμο με 3 κινητήρες, (1.2 TSI – 105 ίππων, 1.6 TDI – 105 ίππων και 2.0 TDI με 140 άλογα). Η τιμή του ξεκινά από τις 22.090 ευρώ.
