H Nissan έβγαλε στην αγορά το την n-tec ειδική έκδοση του Juke η οποία φορά και το νέο σύστημα ενημέρωσης και ψυχαγωγίας Connect. Βασίζεται πάνω στην έκδοση Acenta και διαθέτει έγχρωμη οθόνη αφής 5,8″, Bluetooth, USB, σύστημα πλοήγησης, καθώς και τη τεχνολογία της Google Send-To-Car, η οποία επιτρέπει στον οδηγό να στείλει την διαδρομή μέσα από το PC/tablet του.
Από πλευράς εξοπλισμού διαθέτει επίσης αυτόματο κλιματισμό, κάμερα οπισθοπορείας, αυτόματα φωτιστικά σώματα, αισθητήρες βροχής, προβολείς ομίχλης και δερμάτινο τιμόνι και επιλογέα ταχυτήτων.
Η έκδοση διαθέτει επίσης ζάντες 18″, μαύρους καθρέπτες, μαύρες μεσαίες κολόνες ενώ θα είναι διαθέσιμο σε 8 εξωτερικούς χρωματικούς συνδυασμούς και 3 εσωτερικούς. Μηχανικά θα φορά τον 1.600αρη ατμοσφαιρικό απόδοσης 117 ίππων, τον 1.600αρη turbo DIG-T απόδοσης 190 ίππων και τον 1.5 dCi turbodiesel απόδοσης 110 ίππων με 124 γρ/χλμ εκπομπές CO2.
Ο ατμοσφαιρικός κινητήρας συνδυάζεται είτε με ένα 5-τάχυτο μηχανικό, είτε με ένα XTRONIC CVT κιβώτιο, η μπροστοκίνητη έκδοση με τον turbo 1.600αρη βενζινοκινητήρα μόνο με το 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό, ενώ η τετρακίνητη μόνο με το XTRONIC M-CVT. Τέλος ο 1.5 dCi turbodiesel συνδυάζεται αποκλειστικά με το 6-τάχυτο μηχανικό κιβώτιο.
Στις σχετικές ειδήσεις, η Ιαπωνικής εταιρία ανακοίνωσε ότι σε όλα τα νέα μοντέλα της, θα χρησιμοποιεί κατά 25% χάλυβα υπερυψηλής αντοχής AHSS (Advanced High Tensile Strength Steel) ο οποίος έχει σκληρότητα 1,2 gigapascal (GPa). Ο χάλυβας αυτός έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί στο νέο Infiniti Q50, με την Nissan να έχει βάλει ως στόχο έως το 2017 να έχει μειώσει το βάρος των οχημάτων της κατά 15%.

JUKE N-TEC DRIVES INTO THE FUTURE
Special edition Juke previews next stage in home-to-car connectivity with advanced technology as standard

ROLLE, Switzerland (11 March, 2013) – Advanced vehicle telematics, which allow an owner to send navigation requests to his or her car ahead of a journey, are being showcased in a new special edition Juke – Nissan’s best-selling compact Crossover.
Nissan Juke n-tec, which will be available in showrooms across Europe from March, features the new generation Nissan Connect infotainment system with remote connectivity as standard.
As well as a 5.8-inch colour touchscreen, satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones and music players, the new system incorporates Google’s Send-To-Car technology.
Using Google’s Send-To-Car, an owner can plan a journey on a PC or tablet at home or in the office and then send the instructions to the car. And as the journey starts the navigation system has already planned the best route, avoiding traffic issues and incorporating any points of interest (POI) specified.
Apart from the convenience aspect of planning a route from the comfort of home, Google’s Send-To-Car Technology delivers a strong safety message, because the driver is no longer tempted to programme the navigation system while on the move.
The latest Nissan Connect system also incorporates other advanced features including access to Google’s POI search, and allows drivers to access up to date weather forecasts, local fuel prices and flight information.
Other new functions featured on the navigation system include a motorway ‘exit view’ complete with lane guidance to help when leaving highways. The system also displays prevailing speed limits, and has an Over-Speed warning that provides visual and audible alerts when the car hits a certain speed above the limit, with the Over-Speed threshold being set by the driver.
Yet another new feature promotes more economical driving. As well as suggesting the most economical route on the navigation system, Nissan Connect incorporates software that analyses driving styles and ‘scores’ the driver’s efforts: the more economical the drive, the higher the score.
Complementing the advanced technology on the inside, the Nissan Juke n-tec has a sophisticated look outside. It rides on dramatic 18-inch black and silver alloy wheels and can easily be identified by its glossy black B-pillars and mirror caps.
Juke n-tec is available in any colour from Juke’s eight-shade palette and there are three interior colours available: grey, red and a new light grey. The distinctive centre console, inspired by a motorcycle fuel tank, is finished in carbon black in n-tec models.
Based on Acenta specification, Juke n-tec is available across all engine and drivetrain combinations. There are three engine choices, one diesel and two petrol. The diesel model is powered by the efficient 110PS 1.5 dCi which is coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. Producing just 124 g/kms of CO2, the JUKE 1.5 dCi wears Nissan’s Pure Drive badge, signifying that it is powered by one the cleanest engines made by the company.
The petrol range revolves around two 1.6-litre units. The naturally aspirated version develops 117PS and is available with either a five-speed manual or an advanced XTRONIC CVT gearbox. Nissan’s Stop/Start System is available on manual versions and helps reduces CO2 levels from 139 g/kms to 136 g/kms.
At the top-of-the-range is the remarkable 1.6-litre DIG-T. This compact four-cylinder engine uses direct petrol injection coupled with a turbocharger to develop an exceptional 190PS (DIG-T stands for Direct Injection Gasoline – Turbocharged).
The front-wheel drive DIG-T model has a six-speed manual gearbox while the potent four-wheel drive model features the Nissan’s XTRONIC M-CVT transmission with a six-speed manual mode.
The chassis uses Nissan’s ALL-MODE 4x4i intelligent four-wheel drive technology and incorporates lateral torque vectoring to reduce understeer and enhance Juke’s cornering ability. All 4×4 versions have a multi-link rear suspension layout, while two-wheel drive versions feature a torsion beam rear end.
As well as Nissan Connect, Juke n-tec models feature Nissan Dynamic Control System which allows the driver to select preferred driving dynamic modes as well as change other functions such as climate control settings via the central touchscreen.
Other standard equipment includes a reversing camera with colour display, rain sensing wipers, auto-lighting, front fog lights, leather trimmed steering wheel and gear lever knob, automatic climate control and audio with Bluetooth Compatibility and USB port.
DIG-T versions benefit from two further distinctive features: a purposeful twin exhaust and black headlining.
All Jukes sold in Europe are made at Nissan’s productive Sunderland factory in the UK – production of 4×4 variants were originally sourced from Japan but have been built in Sunderland since October 2011.
Since its launch towards the end of 2010, more than 290,000 examples have been sold across Europe, with more than 140,000 sold in 2012 alone, making it Nissan’s second most popular model behind Qashqai.
Created at Nissan Design Europe (NDE), Juke’s success has cemented Nissan’s place as leader of the Crossover segment. Its unconventional design blends coupé lines with a chunky SUV stance resulting in a car that combines a number of apparently contradictory statements in one highly individual package.
Following established Nissan practice, Juke is available in three model lines – Visia, Acenta and Tekna. Its appeal will be further enhanced in 2013 not just by Juke n-tec but by the arrival in showrooms of two performance models – the focused 200PS Nissan Juke NISMO and the extraordinary, special-order only Juke-R which has the running gear from the Nissan GT-R supercar under its Crossover body.
Google’s Send-To-Car technology is a subscription service, with fees for the first three years included in the purchase price of Juke n-tec. Weather, fuel prices and flight information services are also available and complimentary within the same three year period. The subscription can be transferred to new owners if the car is sold within the first three years.
The service is currently available in most major markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy and will be rolled out in other regions during 2013 and 2014.
NISSAN TO USE ADVANCED HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH STEEL IN UP TO 25 PERCENT OF NEW MODEL PARTS
Expanded application of advanced high tensile steel, including the use of 1.2 gigapascal Ultra High Tensile Strength Steel with High Formability, in production models
YOKOHAMA, Japan (March 12, 2013) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its plan to expand the use of Advanced High Tensile Strength Steel (AHSS) in to up to 25 percent of the vehicle parts (measured by weight) installed in its new production models. Nissan will make use of advanced high tensile strength steel starting in 2017 as one of its initiatives to help reduce vehicle weight.
Nissan has developed*1 1.2 gigapascal (GPa) Ultra High Tensile Strength Steel with High Formability and has employed it in the new Infiniti Q50, which goes on sale in North America in 2013. Prior to the development of 1.2GPa ultra high strength steel it had been difficult to use high tensile steels for vehicle parts with highly-complex shapes. Nissan continues to be the only auto manufacturer*2 using 1.2 GPa Ultra High Tensile Strength Steel with High Formability.
With the active adoption of 1.2 GPa ultra high strength steel, which is one grade among several types of advanced high tensile strength steels, Nissan will increase the adoption rate of AHSS as far as 25 percent of the gross weight of the parts installed per vehicle. This effort will begin in 2017 and aims to reduce the weight of Nissan’s vehicles by 15 percent with corresponding body structure rationalization.
Through an optimal combination of materials, the jointly-developed2 1.2 GPa Ultra High Tensile Strength Steel with High Formability provides greater elongation, and offers strength and high formability, to make lighter-weight steel sheets. These attributes enable it to be used for parts with complex shapes, which had been difficult to manufacture using established high tensile steels. Combined with high-precision die design and a welding process suitable for materials during the production process, the 1.2GPa Ultra High Tensile Strength Steel with Formability can now be applied to the production of more vehicle parts.
In addition, employing 1.2 GPa high tensile strength steel leads to fewer materials used per vehicle produced, and existing production lines can be used without a big modification. This results in a reduction in total cost per unit.
Under the Nissan Green Program 2016, Nissan’s mid-term environmental plan, the company is aiming for a 35 percent improvement in fuel economy compared with 2005 on a corporate average for all Nissan vehicles by the end of fiscal 2016. To that end, the extensive use of Advanced High Tensile Strength steels, including the new 1.2GPa ultra high tensile steel, will contribute to reduced vehicle weight and better fuel economy.
