H Toyota πήρε την δεύτερη σερί της νίκη στο φετινό World Endurance Championship (WEC). Ο 6ωρος αγώνας έγινε στη πίστα του Spa, με τους Anthony Davidson, Nicolas Lapierre και Sébastien Buemi να οδηγούν το Toyota TS 040 Hybrid στη πρώτη θέση, με τους Lucas Di Grassi, Loïc Duval, Tom KRistenesen να τερματίζουν στη δεύτερη θέση με το Audi R18 e-tron quattro. Tο πλήρωμα του δεύτερου Toyota (Alexander Wurz, Stéphane Sarrazin, Kazuki Nakajima) τερμάτισε στη τρίτη.
Επόμενος αγώνας του πρωταθλήματος ο θρυλικός 24ωρος αγώνας του Le Mans στις 14-15 του Ιούνη. Θα διατηρήσει άραγε η Audi τα ηνία στον διάσημο γαλλικό αγώνα αντοχής, ή μήπως η Toyota θα σπάσει το σερί των Γερμανών;
