Όπως ανακοίνωσε η McLaren, η P1 GTR Design Concept θα κάνει ευρωπαϊκή πρεμιέρα αυτό το Σαββατοκύριακο στο Chantilly Arts & Elegance concours στη Γαλλία, ενώ μαζί της θα παρουσιαστεί και μια 650S δημιουργίας του τμήματος McLaren Special Operations. Είναι βαμμένη σε λευκό χρώμα με μαύρες γυαλιστερές λεπτομέρειες και στο εσωτερικό συναντάμε μαύρες Alcantara επενδύσεις με πορτοκαλί ραφές και carbon διακοσμητικά.
Η P1 GTR Design Concept πρωτοπαρουσιάστηκε στο Pebble Beach τον περασμένο Αύγουστο και παρότι η Βρετανική εταιρία το χαρακτηρίζει ως Design Concept, μας δείχνει το πως θα μοιάζει η έκδοση παραγωγής της σκληροπυρηνικής P1, αποκλειστικά για χρήση εντός πίστας, στα πρότυπα της Ferrari και Pagani με τις 599ΧΧ/FXX/LaFerrari XX και Zonda R.
Για να την κάνει κάποιος δική του, θα πρέπει να έχει στη κατοχή του ήδη την P1, με τη McLaren να υποστηρίζει ότι θα είναι το πιο δυνατό και το πιο σπάνιο αυτοκίνητο που έχουν κατασκευάσει ποτέ. Το υβριδικό σύνολό του, δυνάμωσε και αποδίδει 1.000 άλογα με την κατασκευή και την συντήρηση της να την έχει αναλάβει το τμήμα McLaren Special Operations.
Διαθέτει νέο bodykit που παράγει μεγάλα ποσά κάθετης αεροδυναμικής παραγόμενης πίεσης, αποτελούμενο από μπροστά splitter, νέα εισαγωγή αέρα -εμπνευσμένη από την McLaren F1- πλαϊνά skirts, εισαγωγή αέρα στην οροφή, ενεργά αεροδυναμικά βοηθήματα, τεράστια σταθερή πίσω αεροτομή, νέο πίσω προφυλακτήρα με διαχύτη βγαλμένο από την Formula 1. Την παράσταση κλέβουν επίσης οι πολύ μεγάλες διπλές απολήξεις εξατμίσεων κατασκευασμένες από inconel και κράμα τιτανίου, όπως και οι μονομπούλωνες ζάντες 19″ με slick ελαστικά της Pirelli. Μάλιστα η McLaren έχει τοποθετήσει στο αυτοκίνητο αυτόματο σύστημα ανύψωσης -παρόμοιο με αυτό της αγωνιστικής McLaren 650S GT3-, για την ευκολότερη αλλαγή ελαστικών από τους ιδιοκτήτες.
Το μπροστά μέρος είναι μεγαλύτερο κατά 80mm, με την McLaren να αλλάζει την διαμόρφωση των αγωγών του συστήματος ψύξης, οι οποίοι εκβάλλουν στους μπροστά θόλους, ενώ διατηρούνται τα αεροδυναμικά πτερύγια στο πάτωμα μπροστά από τους εμπρός τροχούς. Στους πίσω θόλους, έχει τοποθετεί ένα νέο spoiler, το οποίο διαχέει τον αέρα από τα εμπρός ελαστικά ομαλά κατά μήκος της πλευράς του αμαξώματος από carbon, ενώ ένας νέος αεραγωγός, διαχέει επιπλέον αέρα μέσα στο ψυγείο, βελτιώνοντας παράλληλα και την αεροδυναμική απόδοση του πίσω δαπέδου.
Οι καθρέπτες έχουν επανατοποθετηθεί πάνω στις μπροστά κολόνες, τόσο για να είναι πιο κοντά στα μάτια του οδηγού, όσο και για μειωθεί η αεροδυναμική αντίσταση. Αλλαγές έχουν γίνει και στο πίσω άκρως της πόρτας, με τα αεροδυναμικά κανάλια να έχουν επεκταθεί και να στέλνουν περισσότερο αέρα προς τα κάτω και μέσα στον κινητήρα για να βοηθήσει την ψύξη του. Η McLaren P1 GTR Design Concept είναι βαμμένη στα ίδια χρώματα με αυτά της McLaren F1 GTR με αριθμό σασί #01R, η οποία πήρε τη νίκη στον 24-ωρο αγώνα του Le Mans το 1995.
Κάθε μία θα κοστίζει 1,98 εκατ. λίρες (2,48 εκατ. ευρώ) με την McLaren να μην έχει ακόμη αποφασίσει σε πόσες μονάδες θα την βγάλει στη παραγωγή. Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι πως θα είναι αυστηρά περιορισμένη με την παραγωγή της να ξεκινά μετά το τέλος της παραγωγής της P1.
Οι ιδιοκτήτες της McLaren P1 GTR θα έχουν πρόσβαση στους αγωνιστικούς προσομοιωτές της McLaren, θα λάβουν μέρος σε τουλάχιστον έξι διεθνείς εκδηλώσεις, με την McLaren αν αναλαμβάνει την μεταφορά των αυτοκινήτων στις πίστες του κόσμου, όπως ακριβώς κάνει και η Ferrari με το πρόγραμμα Corse Clienti των κατόχων των FXX μοντέλων της.

The McLaren P1™ GTR design concept will make its European premiere at this weekend’s Chantilly Arts & Elegance concours (6-7 September), following a global unveil last month at the Pebble Beach automotive weekend. Presented in design concept form at the inaugural event taking place in Domaine de Chantilly, the development programme for the McLaren P1™ GTR continues at pace, with the first images showing the car in the famous race track design camouflage during the intial testing phase.
The McLaren P1™ GTR will be the most track-tailored and most powerful model produced by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) to date. The rigorous development programme has been initially focused on the powertrain enhancements, with an increase in power to 1,000PS (986 bhp), and has seen the camouflaged developed prototype testing on race-proven slick tyres with a unique exhaust system. The next stage of development will be optimising the aerodynamic performance. Further testing will continue over the winter months to ensure that, following the completion on the 375th and final example of the road-going McLaren P1™, the McLaren P1™ GTR will achieve the goal of being the ultimate drivers’ car on track – two decades on from the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans win by the legendary McLaren F1 GTR.
Also making its debut alongside the McLaren P1™ GTR design concept will be a unique example of the McLaren 650S. Commissioned by the McLaren Paris retailer, the 650S Coupé has been produced by MSO, the bespoke division of McLaren, and is a visually striking example of the groundbreaking mid-engined supercar. The bodywork is finished in gleaming Pearl White metallic, with the colour extending throughout the exterior, including the front splitter, door blades and side intakes. In contrast to this, details such as the roof, lightweight alloy wheels and mirror casings have been finished in contrasting gloss black.
The monochromatic design gives the one-off 650S a dramatic yet elegant look. A body-coloured front bumper and MSO door blades improve airflow and optimise aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear of the car is fitted with an aggressive carbon fibre diffuser which is in contrast to the crisp paintwork. Further contrast is added with a set of five-spoke lightweight forged 650S alloy wheels finished in gloss black.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed with lightweight black Alcantara® and contrasting orange stitching throughout. The look of the interior is complemented with extensive use of carbon fibre and a gloss black finish applied to the air vents, instrument cluster and switches on the Active Dynamics Panel.
The Chantilly Arts & Elegance is a dynamic combination of arts, fashion and automotive culture inspired by historic car competitions. Staged as an elegant weekend taking place at Domaine de Chantilly, near Paris, the event will celebrate the French way of life, showcasing some of the most exclusive concept cars designed by today’s leading car makers.
