Stefan Sielaff

Η Bentley ανακοίνωσε σήμερα πως ο 53χρονος Stefan Sielaff είναι ο νέος επικεφαλής εξωτερικού σχεδιασμού της. Ανώτερος του θα είναι ο Rolf Frech, μέλος του διοικητικού συμβουλίου της Bentley, με τον Sielaff να παραμένει και επικεφαλής του σχεδιαστικού κέντρου της Volkswagen στο Potsdam, αναφέροντας στον αρχισχεδιαστή του VW Group, Walter de Silva.

O Sielaff αντικαθιστά τον 49χρονο Luc Donckerwolke, ο οποίος κατείχε τη θέση του επικεφαλής σχεδιασμού της Βρετανικής εταιρίας από το 2012 και αποφάσισε να αποχωρήσει από την εταιρία και το VW Group, για το οποίο εργαζόταν από το 1992.

Stefan Sielaff to head design at the Bentley brand

Sielaff also responsible for Group Interior Design Strategy

Stefan Sielaff (53), currently Head of the Volkswagen Design Center in Potsdam, will assume responsibility for design at the Bentley brand effective July 1, 2015 in addition to his present post as Head of Group Interior Design Strategy. As Director of Design at Bentley, Sielaff succeeds Luc Donckerwolke (49), who held this function since 2012.

Stefan Sielaff joined the Volkswagen Group in 1990, beginning his career in the interior design department at Audi. From 1995 the design graduate was entrusted with setting up the Group’s Design Center Europe in Spain. In 1997 he was placed in charge of the Design Studio in Munich and was appointed Head of Audi Interior Design in the same year. In 2003 Sielaff moved to DaimlerChrysler as Design Director of the Interior Competence Center, returning to the Volkswagen Group in 2006 to become Head of Audi Design before being appointed Head of the Volkswagen Design Center in Potsdam und Head of Group Interior Design Strategy in 2012.

In his new function as Director of Design at Bentley, Sielaff reports to Rolf Frech, Board Member for Engineering. In his function as Head of Group Interior Design Strategy he continues to report to Walter de Silva, Head of Group Design.

Luc Donckerwolke has decided to leave the company. De Silva said: “Luc Donckerwolke has played a key role in the design of various Group brands. We would like to thank him for his work.”


  • Stefan Sielaff to lead Bentley design

(Crewe, 4th June 2015)Bentley Motors today announces Stefan Sielaff as its new Director of Design. He succeeds Luc Donckerwolke who has been with Bentley since 2012.

Mr Sielaff will join Bentley on 1stJuly 2015 from his current dual role as Head of Volkswagen Group Interior Design and Design Director at Volkswagen Design Center Potsdam.

In his role at Bentley, he will report to Rolf Frech, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Engineering. He will also retain his position as Head of Volkswagen Group Interior Design, reporting to Director of Volkswagen Group Design, Dr. Walter de Silva.

Mr Sielaff has a career spanning more than 25 years in the Volkswagen group, most prominently with Audi where he started as an intern and progressed to spending five years as Design Director for the business from 2006. It was here where he led a team of over 350 design experts with responsibility for exterior, interior and colour and trim design for the full Audi product portfolio, concept and show cars.

Starting in the industry with a Vehicle Design degree from the Royal College of Art in London, UK, Mr Sielaff, 53, has been in his current role since 2012.

Commenting on his appointment, Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and CEO at Bentley Motors, said: “Bentley is entering one of the most important phases in the company’s history, with significant plans for new models. With his experience, creative vision and passion for the Bentley brand Stefan Sielaff is perfectly placed to lead the design of our future models.”

Mr Sielaff replaces Mr Donckerwolke who has decided to leave the business and Volkswagen AG.
