Τρία χρόνια μετά την παρουσίαση της τελευταίας γενιάς της ευρωπαϊκής Toyota Corolla, η ιαπωνική εταιρία μας δείχνει σήμερα το ανανεωμένο μοντέλο, το οποίο θα μπει στις ελληνικές αντιπροσωπείες μέσα στο καλοκαίρι.
Η ανανεωμένη έκδοση της 11ης γενιά της Corolla, η οποία πωλείται σε περίπου 150 αγορές και σημειώνει το 20% των συνολικών πωλήσεων της μάρκας, διακρίνεται από το νέο εμπρός και πίσω μέρος, καθώς υπάρχουν ανασχεδιασμένοι προφυλακτήρες και LED φωτιστικά σώματα. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι μια πιο μοντέρνα εμφάνιση, με τις γραμμές να αυξάνουν το οπτικό πλάτος. Οι χειρολαβές πλέον είναι χρωμιωμένες, υπάρχουν νέα σχέδια για τις ζάντες 16 και 17 ιντσών, ενώ διατίθεται σε 9 εξωτερικά χρώματα, εκ των οποίων τα 3 (Platinum Bronze, Tokyo Red και Earth Bronzeare) είναι καινούρια.
Μηχανικά δεν αναφέρει κάτι η Toyota, αλλά λογικά θα συνεχίζει να προσφέρεται με τον entry-level βενζινοκινητήρα 1,33-λίτρων απόδοσης 99 ίππων, καθώς και τον 1,4-λίτρων πετρελαιοκινητήρα απόδοσης 90 ίππων, έχοντας εκπομπές CO2 99 γρ/χλμ., ενώ παραμένει άγνωστο αν ο 1.600αρης βενζινοκινητήρας 132 ίππων έχει αντικατασταθεί με τον νέο 1.2-λίτρων turbo με τα 115 άλογα.
Από πλευράς εξοπλισμού, στάνταρ σε όλη τη γκάμα θα προσφέρεται το Toyota Safety Sense, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει το Pre-Collision System, το Lane Departure Alert, το Road Sign Assist και το Automatic High Beam.
Παράλληλα η Toyota παρουσίασε και την αμερικάνική ανανεωμένη έκδοση της Corolla, προσφέροντας και το πακέτο 50th anniversary, μιας και γιορτάζει τα 50στα γενέθλια της.
Η νέα Corolla φέρει νέα γρίλια, bi-LED φωτιστιικά σώματα και νέους προφυλακτήρες.

Brussels, Belgium – Currently sold in approximately 150 countries and regions around the world and accounting for around 20% of Toyota’s global sales, the Corolla remains the most popular vehicle in the company’s line-up.
The updated Corolla model range now introduces a new and advanced exterior styling. The front has been completely restyled to highlight a wider vehicle stance and a more prestigious design. It incorporates Toyota’s Under Priority and Keen Look design language featuring a small upper grille flanked by new LED headlamp clusters, including new LED light guides, and a revised front bumper incorporating a large lower grille.
To the side, the door handles receive a new chrome trim finish, enhancing the character line running from the front to the rear of the vehicle. A choice of new 16″ and 17″ alloy wheel designs is available.
Greater style is added to the rear through the adoption of new LED tail lamp clusters and a new chrome garnish which further emphasizes the vehicle width.
The new Corolla is available in a choice of 9 body colours, of which 3 are new: Platinum Bronze, Tokyo Red and Earth Bronze.
Fitted as standard1 across the entire model range, Toyota Safety Sense helps to prevent or mitigate collisions across a wide range of traffic situations by processing information provided by a compact, windscreen head-mounted unit housing both a laser and a camera.
Toyota Safety Sense incorporates a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB). Thanks to the system reducing the risk of being involved in traffic accidents, drivers of the new Corolla may benefit from lower insurance costs or more advantageous insurance reclassification1.
The new Corolla goes on sale throughout Europe this summer.

Another influential voice who also began his career with a Corolla was none other than Akio Toyoda, president and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation. A used 4-door Corolla GT captured his heart in the 1980s when he was fresh out of college.
“My used 4th generation Corolla 1600 GT was like a best friend to me. I shared my youth with it! That car showed me the joy of driving. The Corolla’s influence on Toyota is a result of its global reach and scale. From the start in 1966, Toyota planned to build 30,000 Corollas a month when at the time monthly production was only 50,000 vehicles total. But Corolla was an instant hit.
