Έχουμε διανύσει ήδη δύο ολοκληρωμένες αγωνιστικές χρονιές για την Formula E, και με την τρίτη να ξεκινάει στις 9 Οκτωβρίου από το Hong Kong, παρουσιάστηκε σήμερα το μονοθέσιο που θα έχουν στη διάθεση τους οι ομάδες.
Αυτές, για πρώτη φορά θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να κάνουν κάποιες αλλαγές στα μονοθέσια τους, ώστε να γίνουν ταχύτερα και ελαφρύτερα. Η απόδοσης τους θα παραμείνει στα 200 kW, καθώς θα αυξηθεί στα 220 kW την επόμενη σεζόν και στα 250 kW την πέμπτη χρονιά, με την ανάκτηση ενέργειας από την πέδηση να αυξάνεται στα 150 kW, από τα 100 kW που ήταν φέτος, με το συνολικό βάρος των μονοθεσίων να πέφτει από τα 888 κιλά στα 880 κιλά.
Η μεγαλύτερη αλλαγή θα είναι στην εμφάνιση τους, με την Formula E να δίνει σήμερα τις πρώτες φωτογραφίες των νέων αγωνιστικών. Αυτά θα διαθέτουν μια νέα, δύο επιπέδων εμπρός πτέρυγα, αρκετά ψηλή ώστε να είναι ορατή και από τον οδηγό, που σύμφωνα με την Formula E τους δίνει μια μοναδική οπτική ταυτότητα.
Οι δοκιμές για την επόμενη χρονιά θα ξεκινήσουν στο Donington Park της Βρετανία, στις 24 και 25 Αυγούστου, όπου και θα κάνουν ντεμπούτο τα νέα μονοθέσια.

New front wing creates unique visual identity
The Formula E car will sport a bold new look for the 2016/17 FIA Formula E Championship, thanks to the introduction of a stunning new front wing.
The new two-tier wing makes the fully-electric single-seater look more aggressive and unlike any other racing car in the world.
Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag, said: “Formula E aims to be different, and this new front wing creates a look that’s different to every other car out there. I think this is a great addition to our car and further emphasises the fact that this is a modern, forward-thinking championship that is taking a completely different approach to all other racing series.”
FIA President Jean Todt, said: “The FIA Formula E Championship is not just a great environment in which to develop a completely electric powertrain with new battery technologies, but it is also a platform for experimenting with innovative solutions when it comes to designing single-seater racing cars.”
Reigning Formula E champion Sebastien Buemi (Renault e.Dams), added: “I like the look of the new front wing – it looks a little bit more futuristic, and from inside the car you can see the top part of the wing, so visually for the driver there is also a small change. We want Formula E to look different and be different, and the new wing is a good way of showing that. I don’t think it will make too big of an impact on aero which isn’t in the ethos of this championship – but it’s a good way to show visual development heading to Hong Kong for the start of season three.”
The first public outing for the new-look Formula E car will be at the opening group test at Donington Park on August 23. More details on pre-season testing will be revealed shortly.

Free admission to fans on August 24 & 25
The new-look fully-electric Formula E cars will take to the track for pre-season testing ahead of the 2016/17 FIA Formula E Championship at Donington Park next month.
The 10 teams, with the new addition of Jaguar and Techeetah, have six days of official testing to prepare their challengers for the opening round of the third season of the world’s first fully-electric racing series in Hong Kong on October 9.
All manufacturers are also entitled to an additional 15 days of private testing which expires on July 31. The first official collective test gets underway on August 23, with two days open to members of the public free of charge – August 24 & 25.

Please note: Free Etickets offer general admission access to Donington Park from 09:00-17:00 (last admission at 16:00). There will be a limited number of grandstand seats available on a first-come-first-served basis. All tickets are subject to availability.
Fans will also have the opportunity to get up-close to the Formula E cars, as well as meet their favourite drivers, with access to the pitlane and autograph signing sessions during the lunch break. Wristbands are priced at £5 per person and can be purchased from the Donington Park ticket booths on the day.
In addition to the on-track action, all ticket holders will receive 50% off entry to the Donington Park Collections Museum (offer applies to Formula E test days only).
