Αυτό είναι το ηλεκτρικό πρωτότυπου που θα παρουσιάσει η Opel στη Φρανκφούρτη. Όχι δεν πρόκειται για το νέο τους μικρό αυτοκίνητο πόλης που ετοιμάζουν, αλλά για ένα εντελώς νέο όχημα, παρόμοιο με τα Audi Urban Concept και VW NILS Concept, που θα κάνουν ντεμπούτο και αυτά στη Φρανκφούρτη.
Το όνομα του RAK e (η Opel σήμερα του άλλαξε όνομα και το ονομάζει One Euro Car) και πρόκειται για ένα διθέσιο ηλεκτρικό αυτοκίνητο χαμηλό κόστος έτσι ώστε να προσελκύσει νέους ηλικιακά οδηγούς. Έχει αυτονομία 100 χλμ και τελική ταχύτητα 120 χλμ/ώρα. Ναι καλά κατάλαβες, το “πρωτότυπο” θα το περάσουν στη παραγωγή, με τους Γερμανούς να δηλώνουν ότι θα φέρει επανάσταση στις αστικές μετακινήσεις.
Το βάρος του κυμαίνεται περίπου στο 1/3 από αυτό ενός μικρού αυτοκινήτου της αγοράς, πράγμα που θα του επιτρέπει να είναι ευέλικτο και απολαυστικό κατά την οδήγηση.
Το πρωτότυπο έχει εμπνευστεί από το Ampera, και έχει τη δυνατότητα να δημιουργήσει μια νέα κατηγορία ελαφριών, μηδενικών εκπομπών αυτοκινήτων στην Ευρώπη. Περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες γι’αυτό θα μάθουμε σε λίγες μέρες στη Φρανκφούρτη.

Rüsselsheim/Frankfurt. Opel is staking a strong claim for the title of star-attraction at the 64th Frankfurt International Motor Show with an all-new battery-powered electric vehicle. The concept opens a new chapter in electric mobility and extends Opel’s pioneering role in alternative propulsion systems. The key figures of the motorway-capable vehicle are 100 kilometers for one euro, one third of the weight of a modern small car, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h.
Inspired by the success of the Ampera, the revolutionary concept creates a new class of lightweight electric vehicle for zero-emission urban mobility.
The tandem two-seater has production potential and would also be affordable for younger customers. Sixteen year-olds could even begin driving in a version limited to a maximum speed of 45 km/h. Energy requirements ten times lower than those of a modern small car, and energy costs of only one euro per 100 km, benefit the environment as well the budget.

Luton/Russelsheim/Frankfurt – Vauxhall/Opel is to reveal a striking concept with ‘production potential’ at this month’s Frankfurt show that could revolutionise urban transport, especially for younger drivers and those on a very tight budget.
A battery-powered electric vehicle, the low, rakish concept will be highly affordable, have a 60-mile range and be capable of 75mph, making even the odd motorway trip feasible.
Yet despite its aesthetic appeal, the concept will be practical, affording two seats in a tandem layout, and its light weight – around a third of a small modern car’s – would allow it to be agile and fun to drive.
Inspired by the Ampera, the concept has the potential to create a new class of light-weight, zero-emissions electric vehicles in the UK and Europe.
More details will be revealed at the Vauxhall/Opel press conference at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 13.
