Στο περιθώριο του event παρουσίασης της P1 στο Hong Kong, η McLaren παρουσίασε την B&W Edition έκδοση της MP4-12C, η οποία θα είναι διαθέσιμη μόνο για τη τοπική αγορά.
Η B&W Edition είναι δημιουργία του τμήματος McLaren Special Operations και διαθέτει δίχρωμο εξωτερικό, μαύρα γυαλιστερά διακοσμητικά, λευκή βαφή και κοστίζει 4.680.000 HKD (€457.927).
Από την άλλη η McLaren ανακοίνωσε πως ξεκινούν οι πωλήσεις της P1 στο Hong Kong με αρχική τιμή τα 8,9 εκατ. HKD (€870.816), χωρίς να υπολογίζεται σε αυτή το κόστος του φόρους ταξινόμησης.

HONG KONG – McLaren Hong Kong is delighted to unveil the McLaren P1™ first time in Hong Kong at an exclusive, closed-room preview. This is the latest model of McLaren after launching the groundbreaking 12C and 12C Spider in 2011 and 2012 respectively. McLaren P1™ features a lightweight (1,395kg) MonoCage carbon fibre chassis with a powerful twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, coupled to a single electric motor. It delivers a combined power output of 903bhp (916PS) and torque of 900Nm with a top speed at 350kh/m. Benefits from the unique Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) and Drag Reduction System (DRS), an instant boost of power and straight-line speed are easily generated.
Design Director of McLaren Automotive, Frank Stephenson said at the Hong Kong preview, “The astonishing new McLaren P1™ is designed to be the world best driver’s car on the road and track. Inspired by the iconic F1 and champion Formula 1, McLaren P1™ features stunning and dynamic designs, innovative aerodynamics, great packaging and ultra lightweight body.”

To celebrate the arrival of McLaren P1™, a popular 12C Spider in a new exterior paint of Volcano Yellow and a bespoke 12C B&W Edition were showcased at the preview. Bespoke 12C B&W Edition features a series of unique body colour and interior combinations tailor-made by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). “This is a bespoke 12C ordered through the MSO department especially for Hong Kong market. With a worldwide production limit of 375 units and all in left-hand drive models, McLaren P1™ is priced at HKD8.9 million (exclude local First Registration Tax) and first delivery is expected in late 2013.
