Η δράση του WEC και των LMP1 αγωνιστικών επιστρέφει μετά τον 24-ωρο του Le Mans, μιας αύριο θα διεξαχθεί ο 6ωρος αγώνας αντοχής του Nürburgring, εκεί όπου η Porsche ξεκινά από την πρώτη γραμμή του grid, μιας και κατάφερε και έκανε το 1-2 στις κατατακτήριες.
Με χρόνο 1:36.473 οι Dumas/Jani/Lieb οδήγησαν την 919 Hybrid στην pole position, με τους Bernhard/Hartley/Webber να σημειώνουν χρόνο 1:36.542 με την έτερη 919. Στην τρίτη θέση βρέθηκε το Audi R18 e-tron quattro των Di Grassi/Duval/Jarvis με χρόνο 1:37.476 και στη τέταρτη το άλλο R18 των Fässler/Lotterer/Tréluyer με χρόνο 1:37.783. Ακολούθησαν τα δύο Toyota στην 5η και 6η θέση.
