Είναι γνωστό ότι οι αθλητές των Ολυμπιακών αγώνων είναι άτομα προσηλωμένα στους στόχους και εργάζονται σκληρά για να τους επιτύχουν. Η Nissan θέλοντας να δώσει ένα επιπλέον κίνητρο στους διαγωνιζόμενους των επερχόμενων Ολυμπιακών αγώνων που επιχορηγεί, θα δώσει από ένα χρυσό Nissan Leaf σε όσους κερδίσουν χρυσό μετάλλιο.
Το επιχρυσωμένο ηλεκτρικό όχημα παρουσιάστηκε από τον αθλητή Sir Chris Hoy στο ποδηλατοδρόμιο Lee Valley Velopark στο Λονδίνο, όπου το 2012 κατέκτησε δύο χρυσά μετάλλια. Με ένα χρυσό από τους αγώνες του 2004 στην Αθήνα και τρία ακόμα το 2008 από το Πεκίνο, ο Hoy θεωρείται ως ένας από τους πιο αφοσιωμένους αθλητές της Σκωτίας και ο πιο επιτυχημένος ποδηλάτης όλων των εποχών. Έκτοτε ασχολείται με το μηχανοκίνητο αθλητισμό, αγωνιζόμενος με τα χρώματα της Nissan στο Βρετανικό πρωτάθλημα GT, στο Ευρωπαϊκό Le Mans Series και στον 24-ωρο αγώνα αντοχής Le Mans.

SIR CHRIS HOY UNVEILS GOLDEN LEAF GIVEAWAY FOR NISSAN’S SPONSORED ATHLETES WINNING GOLD IN RIO
- Nissan will give away gold LEAFs to its athlete ambassadors who win gold at the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Britain’s most successful Olympian and Nissan ambassador, Sir Chris Hoy, has given some of Team GB and ParalympicsGB’s athletes some extra motivation to win gold with the announcement that the car maker will reward all Nissan sponsored athletes who win a gold medal at the Rio Games with a special gold wrapped all-electric Nissan LEAF.*
Sir Chris launched the initiative and unveiled the first gold Nissan LEAF at the Lee Valley Velopark, the setting for some of his own gold medal-winning moments.
Nissan ambassadors, including the likes of heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, gymnast Max Whitlock and multi-gold medal winners David Weir CBE and Richard Whitehead MBE will have the chance to drive away from Rio 2016 in the world’s best-selling 100% electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF.
“It’s always exciting and nostalgic to come back to the Velopark, after winning my fifth and sixth gold medals here,” said Sir Chris.
“For all of the Nissan athletes going to Rio, the 2016 Games will be a moment in their careers that they will never forget, whether they win a medal or not.
“But let’s hope they can do it – compete at their best and come home with gold. It would be fantastic to hand over one of these special gold Nissan LEAFs on their return.”

“Nissan is fully behind all of the GB athletes heading to Rio but will of course be keeping a close eye out for those we have individually supported over the course of the Games’ cycle on their road to Rio 2016.”
Nissan athletes, who successfully step up to the top of the podium in Brazil, will receive their golden LEAF on their return from Rio. One of the gold wrapped Nissan LEAFs will be on display at Nissan’s Innovation Station at The O2 in London from 26th July throughout the whole Games period.
