Stuttgart.On the occasion of the world premiere of the new 911, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is setting new standards on the Internet as well. The Porsche Car Configurator enables each and every prospective and actual customer to design his own personal Porsche, view it from all sides and against different backgrounds in full-screen mode and order his configuration directly from the Porsche dealer.
The sports car manufacturer is using a newly developed interactive 3D animation for the Porsche Car Configurator so that the customer can picture exactly what his new 911 will look like. This enables myriad equipment details of the customised 911, such as a wood, aluminium or leather finish, various sports seats or rims to be depicted in a realistic way. A panoramic tour then enables you to feast your eyes on your customised dream car from every angle.
But the sports car manufacturer is offering a great deal more on the Internet to accompany the launch of the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S. In addition to a 360-degree flight around the new 911, users can take the wheel of the 911 for a virtual test drive and experience the driving dynamics at first hand. While you’re on the move, an iPad and iPhone app on the new 911 generation offers special sports car moments and the catalogue accompanying the new generation of the legendary sports car is also available in a version optimised for the iPad.
