Η Porsche συνεχίζει τις δοκιμές της Macan, το μικρό SUV της, το οποίο θα παρουσιαστεί επίσημα στην έκθεση της Φρανκφούρτης τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2013 και σύμφωνα με τον Wolfgang Hatz, υπεύθυνο του τμήματος έρευνας και ανάπτυξης της Porsche, παρότι το αυτοκίνητο βασίζεται πάνω στο Q5, η εταιρία του το έχει τροποποιήσει αρκετά, ειδικά από πλευράς κινητήρων, κιβωτίων και ανάρτησης.
Ο Hatz δήλωσε ότι η Audi δεν πιστεύει τι έχουνε κάνει πάνω στο αυτοκίνητο και ότι η Audi δεν πρέπει να φοβάται σχετικά με τον κίνδυνο η Porsche να κλέψει πελάτες της, αφού η Macan απευθύνεται σε ένα διαφορετικό κοινό, από αυτό που απευθύνεται το Q5.
Στόχος της Porsche είναι να πουλήσει περισσότερες από 75.000 Macan μέσα στο 2013, με τις πωλήσεις της να ξεκινούν από το φθινόπωρο του ίδιους έτους. Η Macan είναι το πρώτο μοντέλο της Porsche, το οποίο θα είναι διαθέσιμο και με τετρακύλινδρο κινητήρα, μετά την 968 που καταργήθηκε το 1995.
Θα γίνει το πέμπτο μοντέλο της εταιρίας και θα παίξει σημαντικό ρόλο στην στρατηγική της έως το 2018. Η Porsche ευελπιστεί η Macan να γίνει το ίδιο πετυχημένη όσο η Cayenne όταν αυτή βγει από το εργοστάσιο της Λειψίας στο οποίο ήδη έχουνε ξεκινήσει οι εργασίες επέκτασης του. Η Porsche έχει επενδύσει 500 εκατ. ευρώ ώστε να δημιουργηθεί μια νέα γραμμή παραγωγής αλλά και ένα βαφείο ενώ θα δημιουργηθούν περισσότερες από 1.000 νέες θέσεις εργασίας.
Σε ότι αφορά τους κινητήρες τους θα φορά έναν 3.0-λίτρων V6 twin-turbo απόδοσης 375 ίππων με 540 Nm ροπής. Ο κινητήρας βασίζεται πάνω στον 3.6-λίτρων V6 που φοράνε η Cayenne και η Panamera. Εκτός από τον V6 θα υπάρχει στη γκάμα και ο τετρακύλινδρος 2.0-λιτρος TSI των 220 ίππων, ο V6 3.0-λίτρων TSI απόδοσης 304, ενώ από πλευράς πετρελαιοκινητήρων θα υπάρχει ο 2.0-λιτρος TDI των 200 ίππων, ο 3.0-λιτρος V6 των 250 και 310 ίππων.
Σε ότι αφορά την υβριδική έκδοση αυτή θα φορά τον 2.0-λιτρο TSI των 211 ίππων ο οποίος θα συνδυάζεται με ένα ηλεκτροκινητήρα 33 kW (45 ίππων) με την συνολική ιπποδύναμη να αγγίζει τα 245 άλογα με 480 Nm ροπής. Ανεξαρτήτως κινητήρων, η κίνηση θα στέλνεται σε όλους τους τροχούς είτε μέσω ενός 7-τάχυτου μηχανικού κιβωτίου, είτε μέσω ενός 7-τάχυτου αυτόματου κιβωτίου διπλού συμπλέκτη PDK.
Το αυτοκίνητο θα τεθεί αντιμέτωπο με τα Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes GLK και Range Rover Evoque. Θα διαθέτει νέα ανάρτηση, μεγαλύτερα φρένα και θα είναι μόνιμα τετρακίνητη. Υπάρχουν οι φήμες ότι η Macan θα είναι διαθέσιμη και σε 3-πορτη έκδοση ενώ θα έχει επιθετικότερη σχεδίαση σε σχέση με αυτή του Q5. Το εσωτερικό θα ακολουθήσει την σχεδίαση των Cayenne και Panamera, τα οποία κατασκευάζονται και αυτά στο εργοστάσιο της Λειψίας.
Παράλληλα, η Porsche ανακοίνωσε ότι έναν χρόνο μετά τα θεμέλια, τοποθετήθηκε η οροφή στο νέο βαφείο της, στο εργοστάσιο της Λειψίας, στο οποίο θα κατασκευάζεται και η νέα Macan.

Roofing Ceremony of Paint Shop in Leipzig
Expansion of the Porsche Plant in Saxony with in-house Body Assembly and Paint Shop
Stuttgart / Leipzig. The next milestone has been achieved: Nearly a year after the foundation stone ceremony, the Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG is celebrating the roofing ceremony for the paint shop at the Leipzig plant today. One of the most modern paint shop facilities in the world, covering 60,000 square metres is being built here, which is also part of the largest construction project in the history of Porsche: The expansion of the Saxony plant into a fully-fledged factory, with on-site body assembly and paint shop for the production of the new model Macan.
“A number of aspects of this construction are very impressive. A paint shop is being built on a production area of more than eight football fields in record time, which will set new standards in environmental technology. This represents an important investment for the site, a major economic stimulus for the region, and a key enabler for the company’s growth strategy”, as Wolfgang Leimgruber, Member of the Executive Board Production at Porsche AG, comments on the occasion of the ceremony in Leipzig, which entailed the ceremonial attachment of the last steel beam of the roof structure today.
Approximately 113,000 tons of concrete were used in constructing the shell of the new paint shop, which will be about 360 meters long, 72 meters wide, and 30 meters high – a structure that blends seamlessly and harmoniously into the architecture of the Leipzig factory. “Construction works are absolutely on schedule”, as Wolfgang Leimgruber continues to explain: “All efforts are geared at the production launch of the new Macan on time, and at the best quality up to Porsche standards as of the end of 2013.” In the coming weeks, the facade of the paint shop is set to be completed. Work on the interior and the painting equipment will commence immediately thereafter, with operations set to commence in the summer of 2013. The Macan cars manufactured in the Leipzig body assembly are then going to be subjected to a multi-stage paint process on several floors – all in accordance with state-of-the-art sustainability measures. For example, a newly developed separation system for paint overspray is going to be installed. Thanks to the dry deposition on stone dust base, and a downstream, chemical exhaust air cleaning system, solvent emissions from the painting process are reduced to a minimum. The use of waste heat from the electricity generated by a wood chip power plant is also unique. This biomass power plant supplies the paint shop with up to 80 percent of the heat requirements from natural resources.
“In our expansion of the Leipzig plant, Porsche is not just setting a clear signal in respect of the environment, but also a clear signal to the people of the region. The plant expansion will create 1,000 new jobs. The paint shop alone will generate jobs for more than 400 new employees”, as Siegfried Bülow, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche Leipzig GmbH comments in his address to the more than 800 guests present.
