Sporter 997 GT 3 RS 4.0 SP 525 : Suction like Swiss clockwork
With its new SP 525 Sportec has created a precision weapon for the tarmac! Nothing can circle around the curves quite so harmoniously and effectively as a sports car with a suction engine. Even today this type of performance still remains almost unachievable. This is no easy task for a high class modification. – But with the know-how gained from 15 years development it is a task that the engineers from Sportec can solve. In order to optimise the performance the Swiss engineers installed and re-programmed sports catalytic converters and an Akrapovic exhaust system. The motronics were then tuned on a dynamometer and re-programmed. The result of their efforts is 525 PS instead of the accumulated 500 horsepower found in production models along with torque that has been increased by around 20 Newton metres to 480 Nm.
In order to get this increased performance onto the tarmac with as little loss as possible a traction control from Sportec and a clubsport running gear permitted for road use from Bilstein were also installed. The 20 inch large Mon0/7 wheel rims with central locking and matching Michelin PS2 Cup tyres ensure there is precise holding on the road.
In addition the bonnet made of carbon helps to reduce the car’s overall weight of this vehicle as does the upgraded braking system on ceramic discs. At the same the lower unsprung mass promotes precision and also increases the braking values of the SP525.
Sportec’s windscreen viewing bars and optical package Sportec-Motorsport mean that alterations to the design are, as to be expected from the tuner, minimised. As an added option a video box is also available, which will no doubt deliver good service to those looking for the ideal lane in their “Precision Tool from Sportec”.
