Η Dodge έδωσε και τέταρτο teaser video του Challenger SRT Demon, που διαθέτει μόνο κάθισμα οδηγού και θα κάνει ντεμπούτο στην έκθεση της Νέας Υόρκης τον Απρίλιο, ενώ φήμες το θέλουν να παράγει 757 άλογα.
Ο “δαίμονας” θα συνοδεύεται από 18 μοναδικά στοιχεία που μεγιστοποιούν την ευελιξία και την αποκλειστικότητα, συμπεριλαμβανομένων Demon-επώνυμων εργαλείων, εφεδρικούς Demon τροχούς, Demon Track Pack, και πολλά άλλα, με το κάθε Challenger SRT Demon να διαθέτει ειδικό ταμπελάκι με το όνομα του ιδιοκτήτη.
Το αυτοκίνητο διαθέτει μονάχα κάθισμα οδηγού, μιας και τα υπόλοιπα έχουν αφαιρεθεί, προκειμένου το βάρος του να μειωθεί κατά 97,5 κιλά. Εκτός από το πίσω κάθισμα (-25 κιλά) και το κάθισμα του συνοδηγού (-26,3 κιλά), το SRT Demon διαθέτει χειροκίνητο τηλεσκοπικό τιμόνι το οποίο μειώνει το βάρος κατά 1,8 κιλά, λιγότερο ηχομονωτικό υλικό (μείωση βάρους 8 κιλών), κούφιες αντιστρεπτικές (μείωση βάρους 8,6 κιλά), μικρότερα φρένα (τετραπίστονα με δίσκους 360 mm, σε σχέση με τα εξαπίστονα με δίσκους 391 mm του SRT Hellcat – μείωση βάρους 7,2 κιλά) και νέες ζάντες 18″ (μείωση βάρους 7,2 κιλών).
Υπάρχουν μόλις δύο ηχεία, ενώ όλες οι υπόλοιπες καλωδιώσεις του ηχοσυστήματος αφαιρέθηκαν, περιορίζοντας το βάρος κατά 10,9 κιλά. Επίσης ξέχνα την ρεζέρβα και την επένδυση στο πορτμπαγκάζ. Περιττά πράγματα. Η συνολική μείωση του βάρους από την αφαίρεση των παραπάνω ανέρχεται στα 105,2 κιλά, αλλά επειδή το Challenger SRT Demon είναι βαρύτερο κατά 7,7 κιλά σε σχέση με το Challenger SRT Hellcat, λόγω φουσκωμένων θόλων, το πρώτο ζυγίζει 97,5 κιλά λιγότερο.
Ο σχεδιασμός του έχει ήδη διαρρεύσει και πριν από μια εβδομάδα έγινε γνωστό πως φορά ειδικά “Demon Branded” ελαστικά 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag radials, αλλά και ένα φαρδύ bodykit. Είναι η πρώτη φορά που κάποιο εργοστασιακό μοντέλο της Dodge εξοπλίζεται με drag radials ελαστικά στον βασικό εξοπλισμό.

FEBRUARY 2, 2017 ,AUBURN HILLS, MICH. – Performance cars share common goals – it’s true, and some more than others, but it’s also true every one of them favors one performance target over another. When you shift the focus from all performance cars to muscle cars, design and engineering choices still must be made regarding whether to favor street manners, drag strip capability, road course handling or a balance of each.
Twenty-two days into the pre-launch campaign, the general consensus seems to be that the Challenger SRT Demon is a single-seat, gutted-out, purpose-built drag car. But this week’s teaser video starts to bring the Challenger SRT Demon’s true mission more clearly into focus.
The Challenger SRT Demon provides a platform from which each customer can design their own ultimate “Street/Strip” muscle car. It’s not intended for a road course; rather, each customer can decide at the time of order, or once they own the car, or even on a moment’s notice that they want their car to favor street performance, drag strip performance or something in between.
The key is building in the capability and flexibility and then giving the customer access to the right gear for the job.
This new teaser video, titled “Crate,” unlocked February 2, contains clues to the dual purpose of the Challenger SRT Demon.
