- 10 years of Full Hybrid technology: acceleration of Prius sales in Europe and the deployment of hybrid technology to a wider market with Auris HSD

- Prius Plug-in Hybrid, a new step in the development of HSD® technology
- Verso-S world premiere – Toyota re-enters the B-MPV segment
- New iQ interior and AYGO Connect multimedia system
As Prius European sales top the 200,000 mark, HSD® technology will also be a key focus of the 2010 Toyota stand. The launch of the Auris HSD® – the first, and only, full hybrid powertrain in the C-segment- anticipates the introduction of the HSD® technology to other mainstream Toyota models.
Supporting this strategy, the Future Toyota Compact Hybrid Concept makes its European debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Its stylish, urban-friendly packaging placing the emphasis on quality, simplicity and affordability, the FT-CH is Toyota’s first representation of a full hybrid vehicle for the small compact car segment.
Further highlighting Toyota’s environmental leadership, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid showcases the modularity which makes HSD® powertrain technology readily adaptable to different power sources. With the goal of bringing the vehicle to the market globally in 2012, 200 Prius Plug-in Hybrid’s are already involved in selected lease projects throughout Europe.
Offering further technical insight into the HSD® vehicles on display, the Hybrid Synergy Drive Gallery is an interactive exhibition demonstrating the company’s drive towards sustainable mobility through the adaption of HSD® to use in Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHV), Electric Vehicles (EV) and Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicles (FCHV).
Marking Toyota’s re-entry into the B-MPV segment, the all-new Verso-S makes its world premiere at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Small, spacious and smart, the Verso-S showcases efficiency in space management. It has the shortest overall length -less than four metres- of any MPV in the European B-segment. Yet careful attention to detail in every aspect of its practical, flexible interior design has maximised spaciousness, comfort and perceived quality throughout.
Also on display, the iQ benefits from a new level of perceived quality of the interior and a new interior colour scheme. And AYGO 2011 features a smart, easy-to-use, AYGO Connect system providing customers with a comprehensive multimedia interface.
Toyota’s on-stand press conference will take place at 08.45 on Thursday 30th September in Hall 4.
