Η Eagle αποκάλυψε πριν σχεδόν ένα χρόνο το τρίτο μέλος της γκάμας της, την πανέμορφη και εξωφρενικά ακριβή, Spyder GT, και πλέον ανακοίνωσε ότι είναι διαθέσιμη για αγορά.
Η Spyder GT, ενσωματώνεται στην υπάρχουσα γκάμα της Eagle που αποτελείται από την Speedster και την Low Drag GT και είτε το πιστεύεις, είτε όχι, κοστίζει 695.000 λίρες Αγγλίας ή €820.000 με την τρέχουσα ισοτιμία!! Για μία Jaguar E-Type replica.
Βέβαια, κακώς μειώνω την Spyder GT χαρακτηρίζοντας την “απλώς” E-Type replica. Η δουλειά που κάνει η Eagle είναι τρομερή. Ξεκινά με μία αυθεντική Jaguar E-Type που αναπαλαιώνεται και εκμοντερνίζεται. Είναι περισσότερο restomod, παρά replica. Κάθε Spyder GT, απαιτεί περίπου 6.000 εργατοώρες για να ολοκληρωθεί, ενώ όπως αναφέρει η ίδια η εταιρία, κάθε μία από τις λίγες Spyder GT που θα παραχθούν, θα είναι εντελώς bespoke, σύμφωνα με τις εντολές του κάθε πελάτη.
Μηχανικά, η Spyder GT εφοδιάζεται με έναν εξακύλινδρο εν σειρά 4,7 λίτρων κινητήρα, που αποδίδει 345 άλογα και 461 Nm ροπής, με το βάρος του αυτοκινήτου να φτάνει τα μόλις 1.029 κιλά. Για να επιτευχθεί αυτό το νούμερο, το μονοκόκ σασί του αυτοκινήτου είναι από αλουμίνιο, από το ίδιο υλικό είναι το κιβώτιο και το μπλοκ του κινητήρα, ενώ κάνει χρήση μαγνησίου σε διάφορα σημεία. As with all Eagle Special Editions, the Spyder GT begins life as an original E-Type ready to be restored.
The aluminium monocoque features deeper sills, a lower floor pan and wider wheel arches featuring custom 16” wheels and tyres.
The bespoke, hand crafted interior features sumptuous leather and a gorgeous sweeping centre console – very much part of the Eagle Special Edition design DNA – complete with hidden handbrake lever. The attention to detail and level of finish throughout is truly exquisite.
The engineering perfectly blends original and new technology and the Eagle Spyder GT offers blistering performance. With 330bhp and 340 ft lbs of torque it powers from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds and pulls hard all the way to its top speed of over 170mph.
